So many people have no idea this is an option. The most common reaction I get when I explain what Boston Senior Medicine does, “it’s simply a primary care practice that makes house calls & bills insurance”, they say, “I wish I had known sooner.” If this interests you, then please keep reading.
Most folks love their primary care provider, but….should you know someone who’s not too keen on finding a ride, waiting in germ infested rooms, wearing a Johnny and sitting on deli paper….tell them not to fret. They can now see a primary care provider in the comfort of their own home, wherever that is, a house, an apartment, or at an Assisted Living community! If you’re reading this, then you’re most likely living within our footprint.
Boston Senior Medicine is a primary care practice that only does house calls. That’s right! We’re like the old fashioned “Provider comes right to the home” kind of practice. But it’s even better!! Boston Senior Medicine can bring everything under the umbrella of primary care right to the home. For example:
- Ultrasounds
- EKGs
- X-Rays
- Bedside UTI tests
- Blood draws
- Annual Physicals
- and we do intensive Medication Management / Reconciliations
- Manage INRs and Diabetics
- and regular sick visits, of course!
We reduce hospitalizations through extraordinary house call services. Most of our patients come to us when they’re too sick to leave their their home but that’s not a prerequisite. We have had very healthy people choose us for the sheer convenience of not having to leave their home.
Boston Senior Medicine bills insurance. Medicare, and Medicare Advantage plans: United Healthcare, BCBS, AARP, Aetna and Tufts.
Referring is easy! Basically, we need to get insurance verified first, then one of our medical secretaries will call the responsible party to complete the intake. Getting insurance verified usually takes about half an hour or so, and then the Intake Call can happen anywhere from one hour to 24 hours after the verification. If you have this info we can get started: Name, Date of Birth, Medicare ID, Address and contact info for the responsible party.
